Chapter 1: New School

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP.

I stepped out of the shower and tied my dirty blonde hair up in a towel.

BEEP, BEEP, BEEP.

My alarm went off again, and I rolled my eyes as I tied another towel around my body and stepped out of the bathroom to turn it off.

I was always up before it went off, and I honestly didn’t know why I kept setting one.

I started to blast “Friends” by Marshmello and Anne-Marie on my speakers and began to laugh and dance around my room until my eyes locked on icy blue eyes watching me through my window.

I felt like I would drown if I stared any longer, so I quickly moved my eyes to the left, only to be met with gray eyes. The gray-eyed boy smirked and waved for me to come closer.

I slowly walked over to the window and opened it before looking across at the two boys.

“Nice moves,” the gray-eyed boy said. He had a strong Italian accent and was wearing a leather jacket with a white shirt underneath.

“Yes?” I asked, crossing my arms over my chest and making sure to keep my eyes on the gray-eyed boy.

“Who are you?” the gray-eyed boy asked curiously.

“Your stepmother,” I said with a wink.

The boy threw his head back and laughed, but the boy with the icy blue eyes didn’t even crack a smile.

“Tough crowd,” I mumbled.

Gray eyes began to laugh even harder, letting me know that they heard me, which only resulted in me blushing.

“It’s okay. Giovanni doesn’t smile or laugh,” gray eyes said, pointing a finger at Giovanni.

“Oh,” I mumbled slowly, nodding my head.

“LUNA, HURRY UP OR YOU’LL BE LATE,” I heard my mother yell. I physically flinched from her tone and rolled my eyes.

“Nice meeting you, but I’ll be late for my new school if I don’t finish getting dressed, like, yesterday,” I said slowly, backing up.

The gray-eyed boy laughed again, but Giovanni kept the same hard look on his face. I waved one last time before sprinting into my closet and throwing on the outfit that I had hung up just for today.

I ran into my bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. I was running out of time, so I decided to just throw on some mascara and lip gloss.

I ran downstairs, only to be greeted by my mother and father sucking each other’s faces off.

“Ew,” I groaned.

My parents pulled away from each other and looked at me sheepishly.

I looked into my mother’s sea green eyes that I was lucky enough to inherit and slowly shook my head while tsking in fake disappointment.

“Are you ready?” my father asked, chuckling.

If I stood between my parents, you could tell they were my parents because I looked like an exact replica of them both.

I inherited my mother’s sea green eyes and full, plump lips, and my father’s perfectly sculpted eyebrows and long eyelashes.

“As ready as I’ll ever be,” I said with a wink.

My mother chuckled softly and shook her head. I kissed my parents’ cheeks goodbye and grabbed an apple before hauling ass out the door.

Now don’t get me wrong, I loved my parents with all my heart, but they were never around. They were only here to help me “settle in” and then they were off on their business trips like usual.

I pulled my car keys from my pocket and hit the unlock button on my car. The lights on my all-white Aston Martin Vanquish blinked, and I ran inside the car.

I put the apple into my mouth and pulled up the directions for my new school and started the car before tearing down the street.

I only had twenty minutes to get to school before I was late, and I really wanted to go to Dunkin' Donuts for an iced coffee.

I was running out of time, but I put all my trust into my baby. He never let me down, and I knew he wasn’t going to let me down today.

Fifteen minutes later, I pulled into the school parking lot and parked in a parking spot by the exit. I noticed all eyes on my car and rolled my eyes before climbing out of the car.

I looked around for a garbage can and smirked when I spotted one. I grabbed my apple core and threw it and watched as it flew over heads and directly into the garbage can.

Some students watched me in awe while others kept their eyes on my car. I grabbed my food and bookbag out of my car and closed the door before turning around to walk toward the school.

I stopped when I heard an engine rev and turned around to see three 2001 BMW R1150R pull into the parking lot, followed by a white Lamborghini.

My mouth dropped open in awe at the bikes and the car. I had always wanted one of the bikes and a Lamborghini, but every time I found a way to get one, it would slip through my fingers.

The bikes parked around my car, and I watched as the Lamborghini hesitated behind my car before pulling off to park by one of the bikes.

I closed my mouth and took a sip of my iced coffee as the mysterious people got off their bikes.

They took off their helmets at the same time and ran a hand through their hair, flashing a smile, making the other girls swoon while I rolled my eyes.

“Hey, it’s gray eyes,” I mumbled when I noticed the same gray-eyed boy from this morning.

“His name is Alessandro,” a girl next to me said and snickered at the nickname.

The butterfly doors on the Lamborghini opened, and I watched as the icy-eyed boy “Giovanni” stepped out of the car and his eyes immediately locked on mine.

I blushed under his gaze and looked down at my shoes.

“Whose car is this?” a voice boomed.

I looked up again, only to lock eyes with “Giovanni” again, except this time he was pointing at my baby.

“Hey, stop pointing at Lux,” I said, stepping forward.

“So this is your car?” Giovanni asked. He had the same Italian accent as Alessandro. I almost melted at the sound of his voice as I nodded my head.

“Yes, he is,” I said proudly.

“Move it,” Giovanni growled.

Him, and excuse me?” I asked, crossing my arms over my chest.

“Did I stutter?” Giovanni asked, making some kids in the crowd chuckle.

“No, I just can’t understand your level of stupidity,” I said with a shrug.

Some kids started to form a tight circle around us as if waiting for one of us to throw a punch.

“What did you say?” Giovanni growled, taking a step toward me.

“Please don’t hurt me,” I pretended to beg.

“Look—”

“Gio, let’s not say anything we’ll regret. Let’s just forget it,” another one of the motorcycle boys said.

Giovanni kept his intense stare on me, and I matched it with a glare of my own. We stared at each other for a while, until I heard a shrill voice from behind him.

“Baby. Let’s go. We’re going to be late,” a blonde Barbie doll-looking girl said as she climbed out of Giovanni’s car. I physically cringed from her voice and discreetly tried to cover my ears.

The girl glared at me and wrapped Giovanni’s arm around her shoulder. I looked between the two of them and mentally shook my head. Disappointing.

The girl grabbed Giovanni’s face—he still had his gaze on me—and crashed their lips together.

“Hey, Luna, right?” I heard from behind me. I turned around to see gray-eyed—sorry, Alessandro—smiling at me.

“Yeah, hey, gray eyes,” I said, walking up to him. Just because I knew his name didn’t mean I had to use it.

I smiled warmly at him, and he threw his arm around my shoulder before turning me to look at the other motorcycle boys.

“This is Dimitri,” he said, pointing to the boy that stopped whatever Giovanni had to say. I smiled warmly and waved at him. He winked at me, causing me to chuckle under my breath.

Dimitri had short, curly brown hair and beautiful hazel eyes.

“And this is Lorenzo,” he said, pointing to the second dude. He had beautiful green eyes and a warm smile that made me smile back at him.

He was tall, maybe five foot ten, and as I looked them over again I realized they were all tall, including Giovanni, but he looked six foot. It was clear that they were all Italian.

The bell rang, and I turned my head in the direction of the building.

“I’ll show you around,” Alessandro said, pulling me flush against his body.

He didn’t wait for a response as he started to walk toward the school and eventually in the building and to the main office where I got my schedule and my locker info.

I put what I didn’t need in my locker but kept what I did in my bag. Alessandro looked past my shoulder at one of his fangirls, and I chuckled as he sent her a wink and a smile.

“Go to her,” I said playfully, rolling my eyes.

“Are you sure?” he asked.

“Positive,” I said with a shrug.

Alessandro nodded and pushed himself off the locker he was leaning against and started to slowly walk toward the girl.

I smirked and watched as she twirled a finger around her hair and laughed at something Alessandro said.

I walked through the slowly emptying halls looking for my class. I finally made it to my classroom after five minutes of walking around like a lost puppy.

I pulled the door open, and all eyes landed on me as soon as I stepped into the classroom.

“Um, hi,” I whispered, blushing deeply. The teacher looked up at me and sent me a warm smile.

“Hello,” she said, walking toward me. I handed her my schedule, and she nodded before another smile made its way to her face.

“Where should I sit?” I asked as she handed back my schedule.

“You can sit wherever you want. After you tell the class about yourself,” she said with a warm smile.

I mentally groaned and made my way to the front of the class.

“Hi, I’m Luna. I’m new, and yeah, that’s it,” I said with a slow nod.

The teacher chuckled softly and nodded her head toward the desks. I smiled thankfully and slowly walked down the aisle as I looked for a seat.

I spotted a seat by the window and walked toward it before plopping myself into it. I squinted at the class when I realized everybody was staring at me.

The classroom door slammed open just as I was about to ask if there was something on my face, and in walked Giovanni and Alessandro.

I watched as they said something to the teacher before making their way toward the back. Giovanni’s eyes locked on mine as he continued to walk down the aisle.

“You like taking what’s mine, don’t you?” he asked.

“Um, what are you talking about?” I asked, crossing my arms over my chest.

“You’re in my seat,” Giovanni growled.

I stood up and looked the chair up and down before sitting back down. “Sorry, I don’t see your name on it,” I said, shaking my head.

Giovanni opened his mouth to say something but was cut off by the teacher’s voice.

“Giovanni, please just have a seat and let’s continue the lesson—please,” the teacher said, exasperated. Giovanni cursed in Italian under his breath but moved from in front of me.

I turned my head toward the window and looked outside to see that you could see where my car, Giovanni’s car, and the motorcycles were parked.

I felt somebody staring at me and turned my head to look around the classroom, only to lock eyes with Giovanni, who decided out of all the seats in the classroom it was okay to sit next to me.

I winked and blew him a kiss before turning my head toward the window again. I felt a hand on my thigh and looked down to see his hand on my thigh.

I slowly looked up at his face, but he wasn’t paying any mind to me. I tensed as his hand slid up. Wherever Giovanni touched, my skin began to heat up, which caused my face to heat up.

The bell rang, and I shot up out of my seat and grabbed my bag before leaving the classroom. I had three more classes with him before, lucky for me, lunch came around.
