Revenge on the Billionaire

Chapter 2

Just as she reached his table, she let her purse slip from her fingers. It dropped to the floor.

Christian felt a presence, and from the corner of his eye, he saw the red purse lying on the floor. He bent down to pick it up.

Seeing a pair of heels and incredible legs, he let his eyes travel slowly up as he stood, holding her purse. His eyes were drawn to what he thought was amazing cleavage.

Amy saw the way he was staring so brazenly at her breasts and wanted to slap the arrogant bastard, but instead she gave him a sexy smile.

“Thank you. Sometimes I can be so clumsy,” she said, trying to sound flirtatious.

Christian smiled as he deliberately let his eyes roam over her body. “It’s my pleasure, miss. I’m sorry, I don’t know your name,” he said, handing her the purse.

“Amy, Amy Jackson.”

“Miss Jackson, you’re an American.”

She looked at him and batted her eyes. “Why yes, I am.”

He held out his hand to shake hers. “Christian Rodriguez at your service. So, are you coming or going?” he asked, still holding her hand before letting go.

When she took his hand, it was like a spark of electricity shot through her fingers. Her body became warm, and she quickly withdrew her hand.

“I was going to eat, but I feel uncomfortable dining alone. I thought I would just go back to my room and order room service.”

She tried to look uneasy, though she didn’t have to act. This man had unnerved her with his dark, piercing eyes that stared into hers until she had to look away.

“Please, join me for dinner. I would enjoy the company,” he said, giving her a smile that showed off his sparkling white teeth.

“I wouldn’t want to impose,” she said shyly.

“You wouldn’t be. In fact, you would be doing me a favor. I hate to dine alone, and it would be an honor to have a beautiful woman with me.”

After she accepted his invitation, he pulled her chair out and waited until she was seated. She could feel his warm breath on the back of her neck as he lingered for a moment.

Once they were both seated, a waiter came over and poured them each a glass of champagne, then left the bottle.

She waited while he made a call on his cell, and from the sound of things, he was breaking a date.

“Something has come up. Let’s get together another time. I’ll call you,” he said to the person on the other end of the line as he gave Amy a smile.

She took a sip of her champagne, smiling back at him.

“So, tell me, Miss Jackson, why is such a beautiful woman as yourself dining alone?”

“Please, call me Amy.”

“Only if you call me Christian,” he replied.

“Well, Christian, I’m here on vacation. I’ve always wanted to come here. It was a dream of mine.”

“You’ve come to France alone? It’s not safe for a young woman to travel unaccompanied.” He sat back to study her face, trying to read her.

“A friend was going to join me but backed out at the last minute, so here I am.”

“Your boyfriend let you come by yourself?”

“I have no boyfriend. It was a girl that was coming with me.”

“Where are you staying?” he asked, glad to hear that she was single.

Amy was getting tired of this game. Things weren’t moving fast enough, so she decided to get them moving. “Here, at this hotel.”

She let out a deep sigh before continuing. “But I won’t be here long. It’s much more expensive than I thought it would be.”

Christian sat back in his chair to study this beauty before him.

“I’d hate to see you go back home without seeing the sights. You could come and stay at my castle. I’m hosting a party next week and would love for you to be there.”

She had to play it cool. She didn’t want to appear anxious. “Why, Christian, what are you proposing?” she asked, her tongue tracing her bottom lip.

“It’s not what you might be thinking. You would be my guest and have your own room in another wing of the castle. I could show you the sights. I’d be an excellent guide.”

Amy made a point of running her fingers along the neckline of her dress. She saw his eyes following her fingers.

The tip of his tongue darted out to lick his lip and back in again.

“If you’re sure I wouldn’t be imposing, I’d love to.”

He smiled. “Good, it’s settled. Now, please allow me to buy you dinner. May I suggest the fish? It’s delicious here.”

During their meal, he told her about all the places that he would show her, and they discussed many things over the course of two hours. He did most of the talking while she played dumb.

Amy was finding that she was enjoying his company. He was very charming and sexy, and it didn’t hurt that he was drop-dead gorgeous.

She couldn’t help feeling a little attracted to him when he looked at her. He had the most amazing eyes, dark and mysterious with a hint of danger in them.

Christian later insisted on walking her to her room after dinner. There, he took the key from her hand and waited for her to walk in.

Her heart started beating fast when he took her hand and held it, placing the key into her palm. A tingle coursed through her body from his touch. It felt like a soft caress.

She thought for sure he’d want to come in, but he remained standing by the door.

“I’ll have a car pick you up in the morning. A room will be prepared for you. I do hope you’ll make yourself at home. Good night, Amy,” he said, kissing the back of her hand.

Then he turned and left, shutting the door behind him.

She leaned against the door, letting out the breath she’d been holding in. He’d gotten so close she’d thought he was going to kiss her.

God help her. When she’d looked at his lips, she’d wanted to feel them on her, had wanted him to kiss her.

But she was thankful he hadn’t, knowing it would lead to more, and it was too soon to sleep with him. First, she had to get him to fall in love with her.

She climbed into bed and lay awake, thinking about him. She hated acting like a dumb blonde around him, hated him for all he stood for and what he had done to her father.

She would make him pay, and after seducing him and gaining his trust, she would find a way to ruin him and his reputation.

***

Christian Rodriguez was no fool. He hadn’t gotten where he was by being stupid.

He knew she’d deliberately dropped her purse by his table. He hadn’t been fooled by the dumb act she’d put on, and he wondered what her agenda was.

If she hadn’t been so beautiful, he would have dismissed her, but he was curious about what game she was playing.

Amy hadn’t struck him as your typical gold-digging type or as someone who just wanted sex. She was up to something, and he was going to find out what that was.

In the meantime, he would enjoy getting to know her and getting her into his bed.

She may very well prove to be entertaining, in and out of bed. She was young and fresh, and there was fire and passion in those eyes of hers.

He was so bored with all the women he knew. They were boring as shit in bed as well as outside the bedroom. He wanted someone with passion, one with a bit of fight in them.

Amy might just be the one to bring him to a whole new height of sexual satisfaction.

Christian had the penthouse suite. He always rented it when he came here to dine since he usually had a woman spend the night with him.

But after meeting Amy, he’d canceled his date, and now he sat alone in his bedroom with a Scotch in his hand.

As he looked out the window, he became restless, and now he wished he’d brought Amy up with him.

The way she’d run her long, painted fingernail along her cleavage, bringing attention to her breasts, had aroused him. He could picture her legs around his neck as he savored the taste of her sweet juice.

When he’d dropped her off at her room, he hadn’t been able take his eyes off her long, slender neck.

He’d had to fight the urge to put his lips there and suck lightly as he moved his lips down to her breasts, wanting to feel her soft skin against his lips.

Oh, Miss Jackson, I don’t know what game you think you’re playing, but I will win. I always do.

Stripping down naked, he climbed into bed, and within minutes, he was fast asleep. Dreams of what he would do to Amy once he got her into bed had him smiling in his sleep.
